MULTI-DAY dolce vita wedding aT Villa buonvisi
About our wedding:
Our wedding was beyond what we could have dreamed of. After getting engaged in Rome in 2022 we quickly decided that a destination wedding would be ideal for us, we love bringing our friends and family together, we love italian wine and food, and what's more romantic than Toscany?
The whole wedding lasted over 3 days and all activities were on the premise of the venue which was very smooth for all our guests which either stayed onsite the premise or in a hotel 10 minutes walk.
The planning of our wedding:
We started the proper planning of our wedding in 2024 and sent out our invitations in October 2024. There are of course some obsticles with planning a wedding in a different country than you live in and it does require some more effort. All in all it was well worth all the planning and everything worked out very well on the days of the wedding.
The choice of location:
We chose Villa Buonvisi in Lucca as our location for our wedding as we have a personal connection to it and felt from the start of the planning that this would be the right location for us. That we could host our family and bridal party on the premise was also very important so that we could have our closest friends and family with us for the entire weekend.
Why you planned it for 3 days:
As we are from Sweden and majority of our guests was traveling from Sweden we wanted the wedding to last for more than one day, and we felt we got the perfect set up with a welcome dinner on the first day, the wedding on the second day and a farewell lunch & pool party on the third day. The first day really helped all our guests to meet and get introduction done, which made our wedding day very relaxed and it felt like everyone knew each others even if they've only met last night. It was difficult to predict which mode our guests would be in on the third day and if they'd be up for a pool party, and in our case this was absolutely the case. It was scheduled to finish at 4PM but we had to drag guests out of the pool at 7PM because we were hosting a family dinner and needed to close off the space, but if not we don't know for how long the party would have stayed on to. To summarize we are very happy we chose to do our wedding for 3 days!
About the Wedding Photographer:
We are so so happy with that we chose the Ammonite Stories to capture our wedding. Gabor was with us for 3 days shoot our welcome dinner, wedding day & pool party and we are so impressed by his professionalism and eye for capturing moments. We heard from so many guests during and after the wedding how nice Gabor was, discreet while working and positive to take photos on request. Gabor had a clear plan from the beginning on locations to use for the different shoots, pending on the light, heat and crowd of people. We have two small kids and he really managed to get them comfortable in front of the camera, and we have the most beautiful family photos that will stay with us forever. Before the wedding Gabor was very responsive and positive to hear our thoughts and wishes for the wedding, and after the wedding he has provided our photos in a very quick time, and ahead of our contract deadline.
